About Brown/Brotherton/Goldsmith/Geile
Hello family, near and far! Welcome to my unending search to find out where we came from. My journey began with my daughter asking me to go to ancestry.com with her and find out more of who our ancestors were and where they came from. My grandmother used to tell me that we were little bit of everything, which is about right!
I began researching in 2015. My family lineage stems from Browns who married Geiles, Brothertons who married Goldsmiths, and Statlers who married just about everyone else! My trees also include early colonial Duvalls, a Mayflower passenger, many war soldiers, and frontier settlers. My husbands line, soon to come, also has an abundant Native American heritage. My daughter things its great to have pilgrims on one side, and Indians on the other!!

                                 ***********************************

As of yet no DNA testing has been done. I plan on ancestry.com an Brownsociety.org testing as soon as possible.
Brownsociety.org matches Browns into DNA matched groups. My line extends from Group 48. That group matches me with a George Brown Esq and his nephew Edwin. Both of whom settled early wild N Carolina. I am still trying to find the connection.
My father is a direct male descendant of the Brown family line. My oldest known Brown ancestor is William R Brown born 1760 in Virginia(Fairfax county). He served his Revolutionary war term there, and by 1814 was moving through Kentucky on to settle his family in southeast Missouri, 3 years before Missouri became a state! William is my 5x ggrandfather.

                               ****************************************

I have extended family in many states. Lots of relatives of course in Southeast Missouri, a first cousin 4x removed in Kentucky, a few in Oregon and Idaho, and a possible match in North Carolina and Virginia. Hoping to find many more in other regions!
